Kavita’s story spans Thrissur, Doha, Chennai, Boston, and the San Francisco Bay Area—but her South Indian roots remain at the heart of how she sees and creates. An architect and landscape designer by profession, she brings a natural understanding of space, movement, detail, and atmosphere to every celebration.
Of all the traditions she grew up with, Onam remains closest to her heart. For ten days, creating a new pookalam meant imagining the design, composing its colors, and finding just the right flowers—often gathered from her own garden. Vishu brought another cherished ritual: thoughtfully arranging the Vishu Kani. These memories taught her that beauty is most powerful when every element carries intention, and that the act of creating can be as meaningful as the celebration itself.
She founded Mudita from a lifelong love of designing and curating events, and from a belief that meaningful celebrations do not always need a conventional venue. By helping families reimagine their own homes as intimate, welcoming settings, Kavita creates experiences that feel personal from the very beginning.
Her greatest joy is bringing a family’s vision to life—listening closely, designing intentionally, and supporting each client with the warmth and care of someone already connected to their story.
